一对夫妻，一艘货船，一条狗。构成游走在各个城市河道的一道风景，譜寫屬於城市對岸行船人的故事。在中国经济结构转型的大背景下，社会各阶层人物的生活和生存状态又是怎样改变的呢？廖美林和丈夫随着货船生意冷淡，他們也在思考著，是放還棄還是緊守，貨物的載重猶如他們時刻保存在腦中的壓力。在湖南湘潭河段時有机会回家看儿子吉君，却因為马上发生变故，回家愿望遥遥无期。在行船中無論對岸的城市和對岸的美不勝收的風景，或許是夢與詩。在他們眼裡或許只有河中的孤寂乏味的現實形成強烈的對比衝突。辛勤的勞動是希望為了更好地融入對岸的城市和對待對岸的親人，同时行船中的夫妻和家中儿子在這種时间和空間距离的遠離关系正在骤减。

在這種人與物人與人及兩代人之間的矛盾中悄悄地在改變著。镜头始终站在货船的视角记录他们生活和生存状态变化。

A husband and wife, one ship and one dog, become a line of scenery travelling among rivers in many cities. In the back ground of Chinese economic structure transformation, what changes will be brought to the life and living conditions of people of all walks of life? As the business went bad, Meilin Liao and her husband got a chance to go back home to see their son Jijun at Hunan Xiangtan River Section. But they changed their plan immediately andtheir wish of going home was on a far distant date. Because of time & distance, the relationship between the couple and the son became cold. The scenes are always about the cargo ship, recording changes to their life and living conditions.
